Lets hope that 2011 proves to be an enlightening year where people wake up and learn how to connect to their human element rather than their android counterpart!

After struggling for so many weeks with a knackered Dyson which was just out of it's guarantee I bought a "stop gap tescos value hoover." This is an amazing product and I am pleased.

1. It was only £19.00

2. It is light flexible and works really well considering the cost and had good attachments as well as two free bags.

However when I left Tescos Bury St Edmunds approximately 3 weeks ago the alarms sounded as I went through the scanner exit doors. Great, I thought. I now look like some sort of a thief! A man then approached me and asked me if I had paid - he looked like a manager. I said yes, just got this and showed him the receipt for the hoover. He looked at it and said it is because there is a chip in the box.
"Oh", I replied.
"Hadn't you better take it out?" The man looked at the small box and then said:=

"Well I don't really want to go to the hassle of unpacking the thing."

I was surprised by this and said:-

"What about the chip" what shall I do with it.

"Oh" he said. "Bring it back to the store when you next come in."

I repeated. "What about the chip. What sort of chip is it? If I keep it in the house has it got a camera or is it a tracking chip."

The manager then seemed very irritated with me and said
"Stop keeping on about the chip!. If you don't want to return it to the store then throw it away but it would be better if you did."

I stated that I lived in Stowmarket which was 12 miles away. He said:-

"Never mind then, just bring it back when you do come."

I then said "Are you sure you don't want to just take it out of the box yourself? It won't take a minute or perhaps one of the checkout operators could do it?" Thinking even I am going to .... it in a minute!

He said no, he didn't really want the hassle.

Fund raising group for homeless in Ipswich

Hello people with a heart!

I think we are going to have to get on with this ourselves as it is all on the go slow as far as a night shelter for Ipswich is concerned. What we can do in the meantime is try to raise money for the homeless by helping the FIND organisation who provide emergency items. We need to get a fundraising group together for events, fun runs, sponsored walks, gigs, jumble sales, anything really that is a good idea.

Meetings to be held last Monday in the month at Haughley Post Office. This is Haughley, Nr. Stowmarket, Suffolk 7.30 pm. Get in touch if you want to be part of

Update on Homelessness in Ipswich

Despite there not seeming to be so many people sleeping rough on the streets of Ipswich, that doesn't mean that they are not. Please wake up people to what is really going on. Several deserted buildings are full of homeless people along with church yards and anywhere else these poor people can pitch a tent.

Something really needs to be done. If you want to donate please donate to the Charity FIND who are on the web and hope to have a new website up shortly. This is a charity who help the homeless by providing them with essential items such as tents sleeping bags etc. The longer this problem is ignored, the more chance there will be of a death.

I beg you to think of a homeless person this Christmas and do what you can. Even if it is donating some cans of food, a blanket or an offer of somewhere to sleep. These people need you. You can take blankets, old sleeping bags and tents to the Resource Centre, Old Foundry Road, Ipswich.

Auditioning

Well last night was very exciting because it was my very first audition, at the age of 47, would you believe it! X Factor here I come. I think that many of us were encouraged by Susan Boyle because it proved to some of us that you do not have to be young and fit and have a gorgeous body in order to sing but you do have to have strength, passion and devotion and really want to do it. Where there's a will, there's a way! So last night I auditioned for the Bury St Edmunds Operatic and Dramatic Society which is a fabulous Society over one hundred years old. My son James had previously taken part in Bitter Sweet at Vincent the Piano player. I was so impressed by this wonderful show that I decided to give it a go myself.

Previously I had been singing sixties songs in a singing duo with one of my best friends Jim, called Select Sixties. After 8 months of rehersals we were just starting to get off the ground and introduce some Abba songs when we have reached a big ? Who are we right for? Many places nowadays take bands and so we decided to give a few performances at homes for the elderly but with both of us hollowing we could be quite noisy for them.

So where to now? Well I will have to wait for the result of last night's audition where I sang - You'll Never Walk Alone - from Carousel to a panel of distinguished members of the Society. Let's hope that I don't have to walk alone! As if I don't get in I don't really know where to go from here on the singing front! Open to ideas please.

Fingers crossed for my son in his GSA Audition this weekend as for him this is the biggie. Our house has been full of music. Wish us luck!

ANGELS AND WHEN TO ASK?

The Angels hear your messages constantly. Between us all, we keep them very busy!
As God’s messengers they work by listening to our requests from the heart and come very close to be with us watching over and comforting us particularly in times of difficulty. To my amazement, when a relationship came to an abrupt end, a few years ago I felt an angel right with me at the back of my chair. It was a terrible day, I had to drag myself into work to do a temporary job I didn’t really want to do but needless to say like with many of us unless I worked, I wouldn’t get paid. During the morning, I suddenly felt two beautiful wings giving me a comforting hug. I stopped typing and spun around in my office chair like a flash. There was no-one standing behind me at all, certainly not human anyway! In my heart I knew that it was definitely my Guardian Angel helping me get through the day.

Since starting to learn about the Angels and how they work with us, I have been extremely honoured in receiving some beautiful experiences, one of which was on a holiday in Cornwall several years ago. At the time I was really worried that I would run out of money and have to come back half way through my holiday which would have been very upsetting not only for me but extremely disappointing for my then 12 year old son. To be honest I knew that from the start, it would be a “tight holiday” as I couldn’t really afford to go at the time but nevertheless, I decided that we would camp and somehow we would manage.”

Whilst my son was busy surfing on Newquay beach, I went and had a browse around the shops in the town. I stopped for a cup of tea wondering what an earth I should do. As I glanced down at the cafe floor I noticed a small white feather at my feet. I picked it up and put it in my purse. I then decided that I would look at my Bank Account anyway because I felt for certain that the Angels were trying to tell me something, they certainly were! When I looked at the balance at the cash point machine, I noticed that I had a very large sum of money deposited in my account which definitely wasn’t there the day before. Stunned, I went into the Bank and asked how it got in there! They told me in the Bank they didn’t know who paid it in but it was a definite credit. I found out later that it was a tax rebate that I had no idea was coming which had just happened to arrive when I was on holiday.

I returned to the beach to tell my son the good news and we went out to dinner! A really anxious holiday soon turned into a great one. I thanked the Angels as I knew that they had something to do with making this happen while we were away so that we could enjoy ourselves and have a much needed break. “It’s a miracle we kept saying over and over!” My son now firmly believes in miracles and cosmic ordering and he is exceedingly good at manifesting.

Car parking spaces have become a lot easier as well. I always use to ask about a car parking space well in advance. When I left my house to arrive in the local town I would always say “Angels please let me find a car parking space easily.” One would always appear very quickly with someone just coming out in the row I was entering. It wouldn’t matter if it was a multi storey small town car park or just along the road, the angels would never let me down.

I noticed that when I forgot all about asking the angels to provide a place well ahead and I decided to ask when I got there, a space would still appear just as easily. In fact, I decided to keep still and see if one appeared right in front of me and believe it or not this actually happened! I just gave up driving round and round and trusted that I was in the right place at the right time which obviously I was.

Angels don’t need us to ask way in advance nor do we have to ask more than once. It is not about repetition of requests but more about certainty that our request has value and worth and it deserves to be answered. I am not suggesting that you cause an enormous queue in car parks but believing that you are worthy of having a place or the certainty that the angels can hear you and respond.

“I know I will find a car parking space in this row because someone is about to leave!” The Angels do not have a sense of time, it is only us here and now that think of time. So in theory request from the angels can literally be granted in seconds rather than waiting. However some things definitely take longer to manifest than others. The rate in which something manifests rather depends on which “movie” you are watching. What is your reality? The easiest way to understand this is to watch “What the Bleep Do We Know as it illustrates this very well in the scene where the child is shooting baskets on a basket ball court and the film shows to us the endless possibilities (or movies). Our thoughts and beliefs create our reality. We could have several movies happening at the same time. I have until recently had two or more going on or sometimes three! One where I am extremely successful happy, have a lovely partner and a fantastic home and another where I am moderately ok living in a nice home but not the home I really want or deserve. Often the mind switches between the movies and I continually have to bring myself back to the now to feel that I really am safe and loved exactly where I am.

If this is happening to you, then of course manifestation will be slow. “What an earth?” say the Angels; these people are always changing their requests! They start to send you one thing and before it is complete it has dematerialised and they have to start all over again.

We can make things so much easier if we decide to watch only one movie, focusing on our heart’s desire. Then, when the opportunities come our way we grab them with open arms and thank the angels for assisting us in this process. The Angels hear you requests all of them, so try and make your intentions crystal clear.

Does it really matter? if you want it too, it will!

THE WISDOM OF THE ARCHANGELS

Archangel Michael – Electric Blue – Divine Will and Joy

“Call upon me in times of fear. I will guide you through the many trials and tribulations of life by offering you my divine protection. See my light spiralling around you keeping your safe. I am with you.”

Michael’s positivity very quickly transmutes our negative thoughts as well as dispelling the negative actions of others. Visualise him standing in front of you and ask for his divine protection. His sword of light has a powerful blue ray which brings in love, compassion and healing. It is known the sword of truth. Archangel Michael asks that we learn to “trust” in who we are by feeling the light of truth and honour (integrity). His sword of light guides us when we are lost. He illuminates our path and brings us out of darkness. He is by our side at times of need. He heals our hearts and brings in light love and compassion. Ask for him to be with you when fearful or alone especially when you going on any journey through life. He can also be called upon when going on a journey in your car. Some people say that his sword of light represents “Christ Consciousness.” This energy has a high frequency energy which helps dissolve illusions and brings wisdom. His light of truth enables us to move forward by releasing. Christ consciousness is much evolved energy which is here now to help humanity evolve. This energy is accessible to anyone who asks. It is important for me to say that there are angels mentioned in many different religions and they do not belong solely to Christianity. For ease of purpose I have referred to the Angels as (him but they could just as easily be her).

Meditation for Releasing

We can call upon Archangel Michael to help release us from situations in life that no longer serve us. If you are finding it hard to move on from someone in your life, but you know in your heart that the situation isn’t right he is always there to help.

First, visualise you and the other person standing in a figure of 8 made of golden light. Ask Archangel Michael to release you both with love and light and wisdom so that you can both move forward. It could be the case that you need to do this in order to step forward on your path and the person is (although not always intentionally holding you back). See Michael cutting any cords between you with his powerful sword. As the cords are released the two circles part and they become separate. They remain as two very strong circles of light. Each person is protected by the powerful light but they are released from each other. Thank Michael for help and divine protection.
See your friend stepping away from you in his or her own circle of light smiling and happy and give thanks.

Archangel Gabriel - known as bringer or messenger – primarily associated with compassion.

Gabriel is the 8th Archangel. Gabriel with Michael rule over the aetheric soul which give light to soul and body but astrologically he rules the moon (emotions of the soul) Cancer.
Gabriel is the source for our inspiration and imagination. He helps us express our creativity as he shines divine light and celebrates our individuality. Gabriel’s energy is relentless as he guides humanity and points us in the right direction. At times we feel “like lost sheep” but he is always there as a pillar of strength and encouragement. When we get stuck and don’t know which way to turn he acts as a sign post for us and enables us move forward. He also helps with new creative ideas. His energy is very strongly associated with creation, birth and maternity. He helps our confidence and enables us to move forward with love and awareness. He is extremely strong and helps us to confront our own barriers and reflect upon our limiting beliefs! He is gentle kind and re-assuring and can also be called upon to comfort and heal our pain. I see Gabriel pointing his finger like a guiding star who is giving us both direction and wisdom. Trust in Gabriel as he can bring balance, inspiration and wisdom to us by showing “a clear way forward”. He brings positive messages and assures us that it is safe for us to be powerful. He also helps us understand our dreams and enhances intuition and clairvoyance as Gabriel rules those going beyond the astral. He can be seen in the Tarot as blowing a trumpet on Judgement Day!

Archangel Raphael - The Healer - Integration

Raphael enables our chakras to receive more light. Call upon him and feel the integration of body, mind and spirit joining together. His main purpose is to renew and change as we leave the old in comes the new. Sometimes we don’t find it easy to accept the old because we feel stuck or not good enough in some way to accept and embrace the new but Raphael helps with transition.
His energy is very strong and powerful and his healing transcends all time and space. Raphael is extremely virtuous. He has emerald green light in his halo and he uses this green or emerald energy to help with healing. We can ask Raphael to help us and use the emerald green light for our own healing.

Uriel is both an Archangel and a cherub or Seraph angel. He is above us and oversees us but he is very responsible for our connection to planet earth. He holds a disc of tarnished copper reminding us of the stability of our connection through the earth. He represents our security and search for stability and our confidence of success! He is often seen as an emblem of a bull extremely strong and determined as well as there is no holding him back. He watches over thunder and terror and unleashes our inner wisdom.
He is both a hurricane and a calm sea. He is the angel of the southerly fair wind. He stands at the gate of Eden with his sword of fire. He is very much connected to the elemental realms or nature spirits which restore harmony beauty and balance. He is associated with electricity and fire/solar energy.

Dating and maturity

By the time a woman or man has reached thirty-five to forty, are they really looking for something different from the dating scene? The age of forty is considered now still be quite young with people living for so much younger, not even middle aged! When I was a child I held an image of people in their forties being old and frumpy and ready for knitting for expectant grandchildren. Nowadays, as people tend to have families later than a decade ago thirty or even forty can still be an age for going out and having fun. Certainly there are all modes of entertainment for that age group, from Bands, Theatres, Restaurants, Cinemas and numerous dance classes, it is all out there if you want to find it.

In my experience, by the time a woman has entered into this age group, they are often a lot more sure of what they are looking for in life. Men however seem to be much more casual in relationships seeming unsure of what they want. It could be that women recover from knock backs in romance in the way of divorce separations more easily than men. To a certain extent, without seeming to be prejudice against men, women have just had to get on with it. Although a man has traditionally been the breadwinner and certainly has to carry on in that role, a woman has had to hold the family together and put the needs of the children before her. She has learnt to share, to be second or even third place in the family and when push comes to shove in a lot of ways she is much more adaptable.

When someone has gone through a messy relationship breakup, there may well be baggage. From a man’s point of view “baggage” can particularly relate to children and ex- partners but from a woman’s point of view men can also have baggage in the way of unexpressed emotions. Men are more inclined to hold on to anger because they are unable to communicate in the same way women do. Women love to talk about and share their problems with other women but who do men talk to and even if they do talk are they able to express their feelings in the same way, being wired differently! The term “baggage” however, can feel very unpleasant and seems to stick to women like glue as it is often banded about in the dating scene. It creates feelings of inadequacy and negativity as well as a feeling of “how dare he talk about my children like that!”
However it is certainly true to say that emotional issues tend to come to the fore and the same old situations keep resurfacing again and again as people tend to go from one relationship to another without really thinking of what they want from relationships.

There are terms such as “a casual relationship” often mentioned on dating sites, or “see how it goes” or even serious which tend to leave you in a complete state of confusion with “I hadn’t really thought about it before and why would you, when it may be the first time you have been on the dating scene for many years. One of the problems is with women in particular, is that they often do want “a serious relationship” but they are scared of saying what they want for fear of frightening someone off or not feeling worthy. If a woman feels unworthy because of feelings of low self esteem due to a past relationship then she may actually fear having another decent relationship with a man because of worrying she could never make the grade and so she may opt for something she really doesn’t want. She will often sell herself short and settle for a casual or see how it goes affair which doesn’t bring her happiness and just keeps her in a cycle of self-destruction.

This is definitely where the Law of Attraction can be very helpful along with good old fashioned sense!

Think about the type of person that you are looking for in your life.

Believe that he/she is out there and he/she is also looking for you with positive expectancy

Write a list of qualities that you would like your partner to have and keep them positive!

Avoid saying the words no, or not or this and that, just stick to what you do want
i.e. He is really kind or he is good with money (or both of these!)

Stating an age range is also a good idea and also that you would like him to be completely available to spend time with you. That way you won’t attract anyone married or still attached in some way.

Be realistic but at the same time kind to yourself.

If you would like an attractive man or woman, then give a physical description of what she looks like. What is attractive to you may not be attractive to someone else and so the words “I find attractive” may be useful.

Do not feel guilty about putting your requests out into the ethers. It is the same process for anything you want to achieve in your life whether it is getting a book published, passing your driving test or getting that important job. Know it and you have won.

“Or now it and you have won” – bring your thoughts into the now to the point where you can feel the success rising in you.

There are so many ways that people look for what traditionally was called Mr. Right but now tends to be “my soul mate or my twin soul.” As I say in my books I definitely believe that we have more than one soul mate as many large soul groups evolve and work together, so it could be that the feeling of recognition that you have with someone is just another person from your soul group.

Timing is ultimately the most important thing, as there may be many good reasons why you meet certain people in your life at times and sometimes it is about just carrying you forward to the next stage of your journey. Relationships can often be very short, or they can go happily on for many years.

The traditional pattern of meeting someone when you are young and carrying that relationship on through to old age is not as common now as it use to be with the divorce rate rising. There are often more issues to do with trust as so many people are running like scared rabbits but they are no longer sure what they are running to or from it is just like a crazy scene from Watership Down!

Feel rest assured that although there are many nearly identical slippers for you to try, there is only one slipper that really fits you. It is normally the one which is the most comfortable and doesn’t nip, rub or hurt!

Women Of a Certain Age

WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE

I was recently offered the opportunity to be considered for a feature in a National Newspaper or a feature within a range of magazines. But at the same time, I was also told, that I may be too old for some of the popular magazines I had always admired. Believe it or not some of the top women’s magazines are no longer interested in features about women over the age of 45! Why not I hear you ask, surely we are in our prime, we certainly by no means old or ready for the social scrap heap! How true this is, I don’t really know because I certainly didn’t check the facts but it could be true?

There seems to be a lot of focus in the media over the past few years about women who have their career and become mothers later on in life. They start their career path by going to University, and then begin in a relevant job which they are dedicated to for many years and then they gradually climb the career ladder sometimes becoming very successful. It could be that these women’s career prospects improve throughout their middle twenties and by their late thirties to early forties they have become very successful business women.

Women generally are having children later in life not that it is recommended by the medical profession, with the fertility rate dropping rapidly after the age of 25 but nevertheless, for some career women it is no doubt the first time they have even given real thought to the matter of having children. I know when I was pregnant in my twenties I was horrified to discover that my boss was also pregnant at the age of 38 and when you are 24, you certainly can view a woman of that age too old to have a baby. This seems ridiculous to me now as to know as undoubtedly .what is right for one person is certainly not right for the next. Free will and the importance of personal choice are paramount to any situation.

So despite the fact that ageism is one of the” isms” that we generally get all fired up about and certainly is not considered to be “pc” in today’s world, it still exists. Attitudes towards age are very real in the world of media. It would appear that there is however that there is a whole load of interest and intrigue about older women having babies now especially women who give birth in their late fifties and early sixties! However women who want careers later on in life having been devoted mothers for the last twenty years could by all accounts appear to be “kicked to the kerb.”
However the late arrival of babies into this world through older women, reminds us that anything is possible in today’s world and if you want to do a degree when you are sixty, why not!

So what happens about women who have children young because they want to be young parents believing that this is the right thing? They may have left school at sixteen like I did, didn’t go to University because they were considered Miss Average and then worked their way up We started with the bun run remember that and escalated through a number of jobs. We were then happily married in our early twenties and had our first children about the age of twenty three to twenty eight as over twenty eight was definitely considered too old to have a baby in the eighties.
This was certainly considered the normal pattern for women for many years. As young mothers but not teenage mums, they still may not have had time to establish a career. It could just be that they had an average to fairly good job, being a job that paid enough to pay the mortgage and live on.
These women or Miss Averages who were neither very young single parents, nor old career women may consider that when their children reach their twenties that they are still young enough to “go out and get that career they never had.” Now these very interesting and go getting women who have had all the experience and hard work of bringing up a family are told that they are old and uninteresting or features that may be written about them which would definitely be appealing to women of all ages are resigned to the older the mature magazines. Hang on a minute...

Is it remarkable that some of us actually chose to stay at home as we believed that it would make us good mothers and that we actually wanted to spend more time with our children in preference to going out to work.

So I am asking you readers can’t we be both? Surely we can be both mature in spirit as women and also young in body and attitude. Some of us for the first time in our lives perhaps getting that opportunity to progress up the career ladder, or may be going for that degree. Or it might be the right time for us to train for a brand new career. Can we go out and enjoy a night out dancing salsa with female friends or join a social group, without feeling that we are out of touch with the younger women. In one respect women are being told forty is the new 20 and we are also being under-valued for our life experience.

If you have a toy boy apparently you are in and if you are willing to hurt someone you love by saying things which aren’t strictly true then this is also enormously popular. Thankfully, forty year old women have lost the needy desire to compromise who they just for recognition but along with this it is apparent that we are also denied a certain amount of opportunity. It is not a requirement to put your age on your CV but certainly it someone does know your age it may go against you. So come on over forties with grown up kids, let the world know what you have to offer and step forward with the confidence, wisdom encompassing all of your life’s experience. We are certainly not ready to knit baby jackets, or be part of the media scrap heap.

Tower Ramparts - 10th December Xmas late night Shopping

A great time was had by all today as Jim and I (Select Sixties) sang in Tower Ramparts at 5 pm followed by my son James Bickers www.bickersmusic.co.uk Jim and I sang Christmas songs for singalong but we didn't have time to do our usual sixties numbers. James was absolutely fantastic singing Feeling Good, Home, Phantom of the Opera and a real varied and amazing line up of songs. He is very professional and has an amazing voice having trained at Italia Conti School of Performing Arts and he is currently looking for work in the entertainment industry.

We were then followed by the Floozies with Daisy singing some fabulous songs and later we were followed by a whole host of celebrities who are performing in a Panto at Ipswich Regent.

These performances were to help the charity FIND who raise much needed money for the homeless in Ipswich. They provide food parcels at Christmas, vouchers for meals, showers and basic necessities for homeless people. FIND is an amazing charity which needs to be supported by the people of Ipswich. Lets help FIND help the homeless in Ipswich and make people aware how much Ipswich needs a night shelter.

"I have decided that from now on I really am not going to do anything that I don't want to do. What a relevation!Obviously there are always things that we need to do but that's definitely different. i.e. I need to doing the washing up or I need to put out the rubbish. When someone said to me a couple of years ago that I need to do work in my life that "makes my heart sing," I thought well it is fine for you to say this but it is not going to happen to me. Now I am really in the mind set of why not? Why do we assume that things that are possible for other people are not possible for us. Like some of you know I recently got a chance to be in the Daily Mail, unfortunately all that glitters is not necessarily good or what you feel is right in your heart. I have a confession to make here the day before this offer happened I screamed to the Universe for God's sake send me something that will really make a difference. When I shout at the Universe something normally happens so perhaps I do have to tone it down slightly!Now all of your who are reading this mad blog now and haven't gone a lighter shade of pale and are following my train of thought, are probably saying yes, I know what she is trying to say here. It is not that Law of Attraction thing again, well there is an element of this but it is more about believing in you. I have joined a networking site called Ecademy and I have also joined Twitter which seems to save some of your little quirky sayings and makes them in to tweets, I even got tweets on my letter board in scrabble the whole thing yesterday in that order, so is it is definitely a sign, doesn't that rock? I have also put pray two games in a row is this just a coincidence or part of the universal plan?Quite frankly, we can analyse everything we say and do and think it is the Law of Attraction, or that it is God, or a message from the Divine. As I say in the Silver Lining and I would like to re-iterate this message that I come from a place of both faith and you have to make your life. If you stay at home with the curtains pulled and don't answer the telephone then it is extremely unlikely that you are being open and receptive to opportunity.

The voice of reality! I didn't believe that at one time Didier, but I certainly can see his point now.Moving on, so at the age of 47 it is time for me personally to start "living my bliss" this includes, singing, being adept at french, travelling to numerous countries, being a published author of at least three books, being in the media which includes television interviews and eventually becoming a chat show host. If you think that this sounds all a triffle ambitious then I would ask you, why not? Anything is possible if you believe that it is but one thing is for sure that the bliss is in the doing and not ultimately in the achieving although I believe there is an element of this, as achievements are just certificates on the wall which we ocassionally blow the dust off. So go on live your bliss as the bliss is in the here and now don't turn into an old relic while there is still time to rock!Love and wishes

Homelessness in Ipswich

Hello people with a heart

Ive been meaning to write about the homeless problem for a long time now. When you talk about homelessness you definitely get mixed reactions. Whilst some of us walk past pretending not to notice people sprawled out in shop doorways, or selling the Big Issue or the ones who are brave enough to ask us for the ocassional £1, there will be others who work hard to do what they can to try and ease the situation.

There are clearly not enough beds for the homeless in Ipswich. Emergency beds are even more of a problem whereas night shelters exist in other large cities such as Cambridge and Norwich, Ipswich has the Salvation Army which gets full very quickly and people have to wait some times several weeks to get in there. This is not an attack on the Salvation Army as they do a fantastic job but only my observations to alert those "who give a damn about the current and very urgent problem which by the reports done by BBC Radio Suffolk are clearly getting worse."

There has been a large amount of press interest about Ipswich in general, alerting women to the the dangers of being out on the Streets in Ipswich alone late at night. This has become evident since the murders of the Ipswich Prostitutes, yet, we still find in inadequate emergency beds for homeless people. Ipswich did have a couple (meaning two for the whole of Ipswich in a shared room!) emergency beds within a hostel but I understand that the project either has come to an end or is soon to finish due to lack of funding. I ask then, what are we as caring individuals going to do about all the people that will once again be found in shop doorways etc. when this winter comes. There are people who are living in tents for months as it is there only option. These people are very vulnerable to all kinds of diseases especially the flu, bronchitis and even foot rot living in damp and very cold conditions. It is easy for us to say go out get a job and earn a living. Unfortunately for people who have already been out of work for a considerable period of time and may have fallen into the "drugs trap" as a means of escape, it is almost an impossibility.

Ipswich needs a Homeless Team at present I understand that there is a team who can help called HOP which can help with Health Clinics flu jabs and bbvs. They are to be found on St. Helens Street in Ipswich. They have supply food parcels for the homeless and hampers at Christmas time and until recently they have also been a scripting clinic for methadone and needle exchange. HOP is needed! There has to be a Homeless Team in Ipswich please support them in any way that you can as they work alongside projects like FIND a Charity which provides funding for emergencies for homeless people as well as supplies the much needed food parcels at Christmas many people without this emergency aid would just perish.
In addition there is also the YMCA in Wellingto Street but you have to be 25 or under and so they are also full most of the time.

I am appealing to those out there with a conscience to let them know that Ipswich needs a night shelter so that the homeless can spend at least some of the winter warm and dry this winter. If anyone has any good ideas about this or can help anyway please contact the HOP team in St Helens Street or the FIND organisation. The more aware that people are of the need for the night shelter the more hope there is of it coming about.

If you have a building or you would like to set up a homeless project yourself, I am sure that there are charities who could help you with this. Please help Ipswich homeless need you.

Rainbow's End, Unit 3, Old Fox Yard Stowmarket.

Hello, this is to let you all know about what a great little shop Rainbow's End is in Stowmarket, they only have a small space but sell practically everything in the way of new age/hippy goods from body jewellery to candles and clothes. The owner there Karen is absolutely fantastic and she lets me use the upstairs area for my angel card readings and angelic aura drawings so if you are interested please get in touch. I am also able to give Reiki, Massage and balancing of the chakras at the shop also as the upstairs area has a couch as well as all the mod cons. So if you fancy a shopping trip to Stowmarket and a reading or healing it may be just the job or a reading and healing combined treatment. There are also a number of workshops and also belly dancing plus many other things going on, so do take a look. Please pick up a copy of Inspirations as I have a poem called I am a Rainbow in there this month.

You will see from my website that I am quite busy this year and that I have quite a full schedule as I also have a "normal" job as a support worker as well. What is a normal job, well normal is termed as not unconventional yet as it is so important now that we are integrated and learn to stand in our own power, I guess I am an unconventional support worker! Does it really matter anyway if we are a little quirky around the edges as long as we do a good job. We have to be who we are and not a clone of what is expected of us. I noticed in the Apprentice last night that Alan and his colleagues gave that poor girl a bit of a hard time for being too perfect which is a classic example of the expectations that are put on us to conform to be someone we arent and then nobody really being able to jell with us.
